Suffolk prosecutors say they busted a major drug trafficking ring on Long Island and took a trio of alleged dealers off the streets.

News 12 is told the accused ringleader, Jonny Giron, and co-conspirators Victor Alzate and Santos Renee Canales Gutierrez sold cocaine on a daily basis throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties with a focus in Wyandanch, Amityville, Bay Shore and Copiague. Two of the suspects allegedly drove to Houston to buy three kilos of the drug.

Prosecutors say Giron supplied cocaine to resellers from his house on Simmons Street in Copiague. The home is located next door to the historic Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Carlo Padilla, who lives in the ground floor apartment of Giron's house, says he never noticed any signs of trouble.

Parishioners at the church say they're relieved the drugs and accused drug dealers are off the streets.

Giron was charged with 23 counts in the indictment, including operating as a major drug trafficker and first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Alzate of Wyandanch was charged with second-degree conspiracy. Canales Gutierrez, also of Wyandanch, was charged with five counts including criminal possession of a controlled substance and selling drugs in the presence of an infant.

Alzate and Canales Gutierrez also face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
