Police: 12-year-old boy attacked, robbed of iPhone in Morris Heights apartment

A random attack on a 12-year-old boy in Morris Heights ended in a cellphone robbery last week.

Police: 12-year-old boy attacked, robbed of iPhone in Morris Heights apartment
Police say the 12-year-old boy was attacked while walking into his apartment building on March 19 around 4 p.m.
Police say that the boy was randomly attacked after two unknown suspects approached him from behind and pinned him against a wall.
Then police say the two men threatened to shoot the young boy unless he handed over his cellphone, an iPhone 6+ that sells online for as little as $50.
Investigators tell News 12 there is no evidence the suspects pulled out a gun.
News 12 is told the two men fled toward 175th Street and Montgomery Avenue.
The boy was not hurt in the attack.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
