Wright-Foreman's huge night pushes Hofstra to CAA title game

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -

The Hofstra Pride men's basketball team sits one game away from their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 18 years after defeating the University of Delaware in overtime Monday.

Behind Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year Justin Wright-Foreman's 42 points, a CAA Tournament single-game record, Hofstra advanced to Tuesday's championship game, 78-74.

Hofstra led by 13 at the half, but Delaware came storming back in the second half, outscoring the Pride 42-29 to force overtime.

In a decisive late-game possession, down by two points, Delaware's Kevin Anderson stepped out of bounds, turning the ball over to the Pride, allowing them to put the game out of reach.

Wright-Foreman shot 15-for-30 from the field in his massive effort, while just two other Hofstra players hit double figures in points -- Tareq Coburn with 13 and Eli Pemberton with 11. Delaware's Ithiel Horton led Delaware with 21 points.

Hofstra will face the No. 2 seed Northeastern Huskies. The title game tips off at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner grabbing an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
