Detectives: Plainview man scammed into believing he'd won sweepstakes
Detectives say that a couple scammed an elderly man, telling him he had won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.
Lekeisha Bolton and Dimitri Blanchard allegedly got the man to pay more than $147,000 in what they called "fees and taxes" related to the win, detectives say.
Officials say the pair was arrested after ordering the victim to deliver another $25,000 to Queens.
