If push-ups sort of scare you, take some baby steps to ease your body into a full push-up on the ground. Grab a bar or some sort of incline and start your push-up that way. When you're ready to progress, turn around and put your feet on the bar and hands on the ground.
And finally, head to the mat for a full push-up.
