Executive Curran: Gun buyback yields hundreds of weapons

A total of 366 handguns, rifles and assault rifles were submitted during Saturday’s gun buyback program in Uniondale, according to County Executive Laura Curran.

People who showed up were paid anywhere from $100 to $400 in cash, depending on the type of gun turned in.

Forfeiture funds are used to pay for the guns.
