Long Island Rail Road service has resumed on the Babylon branch following a suspension due to a person struck on the tracks.
The LIRR tweeted about the incident shortly after 4 p.m. It happened west of the Freeport station.
Numerous trains were held at stations, and the agency advised Babylon riders to use its other branches as the evening rush got underway.
A little after 5:30 p.m., the LIRR said that service had resumed but delays were expected.
