Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen to testify on Capitol Hill this week

WASHINGTON, D.C. -

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, is scheduled to give three rounds of testimony to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

That includes his first public hearing with the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. He'll also meet privately with Senate and House intelligence committees.

Democrats will grill Cohen about Trump's taxes, businesses and finances, including hush money payments made just before the 2016 election to women accusing Trump of affairs.

In the private sessions, Congress will likely probe Cohen about Russia-related issues.

Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress last year about Trump's knowledge of a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow during the campaign.

President Trump said last week that he is not worried about Cohen’s testimony.
