Nassau police urge domestic abuse victims to get help in wake of murder-suicide

BELLMORE -

Nassau police are calling on victims of domestic abuse to get help following an alleged murder-suicide in Bellmore.

Douglas Kelly is accused of shooting his wife, Dawn, Thursday night at their Thomas Place home.

Investigators say Kelly then killed himself.

News 12 is told the couple's 21-year-old daughter found their bodies.

Police are now urging anyone who is the victim of domestic violence to call the Safe Center hotline at 516-542-0404.
