5 Stamford schools offer health clinics to students

Five public schools in Stamford are homes to health care clinics open to all students.
The nonprofit Family Centers applies for state grants and other funding to help keep the clinics running in Stamford public schools.
Every student has access to the clinic, regardless if they have insurance. News 12 Connecticut visited the clinic at West Hill High School. It’s staffed with a nurse practitioner and a social worker, and even has a dental clinic. The students also have access to therapy.
“A lot of our students fall in to that category, very low income or uninsured. So, we're a great service for them. We can see them when they are sick, we can provide physicals for them, immunizations for them, and it's all no out-of-pocket cost,” says nurse practitioner Danielle Graser.
The goal of the clinics is to provide necessary health care to all students who need it.
The clinics can be found at Stamford and West Hill high schools, as well as Cloonan, Dolan and Rippowam middle schools.
