On the ninth “P.S. I Love You Day” on Friday, students are raising awareness for bullying, depression and suicide.
Students mark the day by wearing purple, flying purple flags and reminding the people around them that they matter.
Brook DiPalma, of West Islip, started the tradition after her father took his own life in 2010. His last words to her were, “I love you.”
On Friday, DiPalma will serve as guest speaker at an event at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon.
