Police: 'Significant' amount of heroin seized in Riverhead raid

Police say 38-year-old Joshua Georges, was allegedly selling heroin and crack out of his home on Oakdale Drive North, which is not far from a playground.
The other three men that were arrested were seen by police in Georges' backyard smoking a crack pipe, according to court documents.
Jermone Trent is facing drug charges while Anthony Minicieli and Mitchell Stromski were arrested for loitering.
The raid followed numerous neighborhood complaints, which led to an investigation by the East End Drug Task Force.
Riverhead Town Supervisor Laura Jens-Smith says the arrested happened because people followed the adage, "if you see something, say something."
"This is the perfect synergy of it all," she says. "You have community see something, they reach out to the law enforcement. Enforcement follows up with it and is able to take some action to make our community safer."
Georges is being held on $6,000 bail.
