Some Nassau County seniors have failed to receive tax breaks that they're owed, according to Newsday.
Newsday says "sewer tax abatements" for seniors were left out of the data used to calculate last month's tax bills.
Frustrated critics blame the Assessor's Office because senior citizens who qualify for the Enhanced Star tax exemption are supposed to get the tax abatement.
Legislator Richard Nicolello says the mistake is "unacceptable" and that's why lawmakers want the removal of Nassau's assessor.
