Police say a Great Neck man exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl as she was walking home from school.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon on West End Avenue.

Police say 26-year-old Jefferson Ramirez walked right up to the girl and exposed himself. They say the girl called a neighbor, who took in the girl and called 911.

Investigators say officers found Ramirez about 1,000 feet away from where he approached the girl.

Neighbors praised the girl's quick thinking.

Ramirez faces charges of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police ask any other potential victims of his to come forward.
