A Massapequa teen is charged with attempted murder after police say he opened fire at a woman from a house rooftop.
It happened shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday in Baldwin. Police say 19-year old Michael Atamian fired three shots from the second-story rooftop of a home on Kings Parkway at Elmwood Street.
According to court documents, Atamian was aiming at a 24-year-old woman who was at the house to talk to her cousin about custody of the cousin's child. Police say the cousin refused to come to the door, and the victim began to walk away. The victim then heard a window open and told police that she saw Atamian climb out onto the roof.
Court documents say that's when Atamian pointed a gun at the victim and fired three shots as she was standing next to her car.
The woman was not struck by the bullets.
Police say Atamian then fled in a car with two other men, identified as 27-year-old Louis Castillo and 30-year-old Trent Austin. Police say the car had no license plates and was pulled over about 4.5 miles away in West Hempstead.
Police say they used a Taser on Castillo when they saw he had a gun in his waistband and he refused to get out of the car.
Atamian was arrested. He was arraigned on attempted murder and other charges Monday in Hempstead, and was ordered held on $150,000 bail.
