Three health care workers have been sentenced to probation following the death of an elderly patient in Uniondale.
In 2015, Carmela Contrera died when she became disconnected from her ventilator.
A jury found that the three women neglected the 81-year-old, but acquitted them of felony charges.
The women were sentenced to three years’ probation, according to Newsday.
They also have to surrender their medical credentials during that time, and do 200 hours of community service.
