Video surfaces showing Poly Prep students in blackface

A Brooklyn private school is facing backlash after a video surfaced that is being called racist and despicable.
The video shows two students from Poly Prep Country Day School in Dyker Heights wearing blackface and acting like monkeys.
The school says the video was shot years ago, but it has since resurfaced and made rounds through students of the school.
Many parents and faculty have expressed their disappointment and condemnation of the video. Even Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted out, "Poly Prep has some real explaining to do. And what's absolutely clear is that a conversation about racism at the school is long overdue."
Poly Prep released a statement on its website, saying, "We do not tolerate racism or prejudice in our school or in our communities. We took immediate action as soon as we learned of a highly offensive video, taken years ago, being circulated on our campus."
The school also wrote that their African-American student group led a walkout and sit-in in response to the video.
The school says it will work with the community to bring positive change.
