Warming centers are open in Nassau and Suffolk counties to provide relief from the incoming bitter-cold temperatures.
In Nassau, warming centers are operating Sunday and Monday at the Cantiague Park Ice Rink in Hicksville.
People can also go to the Nassau County Aquatic Center, Grant Park in Hewlett and Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn.
Suffolk's Department of Social Services will direct people to the county's warming centers. Its number is 631-854-9100.
