Storm brings flooding to LI coastal communities

Long Island was spared from snowfall by this weekend's storm, but it did cause serious flooding in some coastal communities.
Water was flowing through Creek Road in Wading River since 9 a.m. Sunday, according to neighbors. They said it's an issue just about any time there's rainfall and a full moon.
Some residents were unable to reach their vehicles throughout the day.
News 12 spoke with a mother and daughter who said they use pieces of wood as makeshift bridges to cross the street that's basically become a river. They have even used kayaks to get around the neighborhood.
In flood-prone southern Lindenhurst, there was some flooding, but Sunday's high tide wasn't too bad.
The state Department of Transportation still urged people to keep off the roads if possible, as any lingering water would freeze over as temperatures plummet.
