A massive fire tore through a Coram home Wednesday afternoon.
The flames broke out on Alaska Court around 3 p.m., filling the block with thick plumes of smoke.
Officials say Wednesday's high winds, as well as the home's vinyl siding, played a role in propagating the fast-moving flames. Coram Fire Chief Robert Walther says that when he arrived, the flames had engulfed cars in the driveway and the garage and quickly moved through the entire house.
No injuries were reported. The chief says the home's occupants and their dog managed to get out safely.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined, but arson investigators were looking into it.
