Atlantic Marine Conservation Society: Whale on Bayville beach sick, underweight

BAYVILLE -

The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society says a whale that washed ashore in Bayville was sick and underweight.

The 17-foot minke whale that washed ashore Center Island Beach was about 2,800 pounds.

They say there were signs of disease, noting the whale was very underweight and likely sick for a long time.

There was no evidence of human interaction or trauma.
