Legislator Carrie Solages says five kids have been hit by cars at the intersection of Dutch Broadway and Ridge Road this fall -- four on Halloween and another this week.
Solages says the county must act before another child is hurt. Nassau has put up a flood light to make the intersection brighter, but Solages says more permanent measures need to be taken to slow down drivers.
Residents recommend measures such as more signage to show that the intersection is in a school zone.
Because of the recent incidents on Dutch Broadway and Ridge Road, Legislator Solages is calling for a traffic safety study for the intersection.
