Postal workers are pushing through one of their busiest times of year.
News 12 Long Island's Doug Geed was in Melville, getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the USPS processing plant there.
About 19 million cards and letters have been postmarked this month in Melville, where there's a separate tray dedicated to letters for Santa.
There are 7,000 USPS employees on Long Island.
The Melville facility operates 24 hours a day, year-round.
