As temperatures continue to plunge, many tenants could face the problem of frozen pipes.
Mike O'Brien from Petri Plumbing and Heating says it is his busiest time of year because of frozen pipes. That happens when water inside the pipes expands, often breaking pipes.
O'Brien says he's seen many builders skimp on good piping, cutting corners to save money.
Experts say the problem can cause major damage, is expensive to fix and can make homeowners lose water and heat.
"We've seen on plenty occasions where a pipe freezes and ceilings start to fall, walls have to be opened," says O'Brien.
Experts say to make sure you have good insulation to protect the pipes.
