'It's not fair to us:' Clason Point tenants say they've been without gas for weeks

Some Clason Point residents are saying enough is enough after going weeks without gas in their apartments.
Ricardo Bermudez says he has been living without gas for the last several weeks at 520 Rosedale Ave. in Clason Point.
"That's not fair. It's not fair to us as tenants," Bermudez says. "I've been here since 1995, living in this apartment. And I've never seen devastation the way it is right now. It's getting worse, it's not getting better."
News 12 tried to go inside to see his apartment, but security threatened to call police.
Arthur Johnson, Bermudez's neighbor, sent News 12 a video of his apartment kitchen. He says he cannot afford to go on without gas for much longer.
"Now it's costing me over $150 a week to buy food," Johnson says. "They didn't provide us with hot plates or anything. They didn't give us a time frame of when it's going to be fixed or anything."
Johnson says with the holidays coming up, the timing couldn't be worse.
"I have my son come and visit me once in a while," he says. "He's supposed to come over for Christmas. I can't invite him over for Christmas because I don't have the money for that."
News 12 did reach out to building management but calls were not returned. News 12 also reached out to Con Edison to see when the issue would be resolved.
