A proposal for a members-only beach club in Asbury Park is causing controversy for possibly restricting public access to the beach.
iStar is behind the construction of the one-story beach club that will have a swimming pool, cabanas, and a rooftop deck.
According to iStar, there won't be an impact on public beach access, but some local groups say it could pose restrictions.
That's an issue of inequality and public safety.
The proposal includes a seasonal membership to the beach club.
A group called ‘Save the North Beach of Asbury Park’ is urging people to attend Wednesday's council meeting.
