New Jerseyans who wish to tour Drumthwacket, the state governor’s mansion, may do so this holiday season.

New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy gave News 12 New Jersey a tour of the residence, which has been decorated for the holidays.

Garden clubs from across the state decorate rooms and open areas of Drumthwacket each year and the public is invited to come take self-guided tours.

Drumthwacket is the official state residence for the New Jersey governor, but Tammy Murphy says that the mansion also belongs to all state residents.

“We want to make sure people feel comfortable here. We are trying our best to entice people here and to meet people,” she says. “The more people we meet, we can try to help and unify our state.”

Drumthwacket hosts other public events, school trips and guided tours year-round.
