Santa makes annual flight to Fire Island Lighthouse

Santa Claus was spotted flying over the skies of Long Island's South Shore on Saturday, and hundreds of people gathered to catch a glimpse.
The jolly man himself piloted a plane and dropped off a package full of holiday gifts at the Fire Island Lighthouse.
The annual event re-enacts the 1953 drop of holiday gifts by Pilot Snow, also known as the Flying Santa, to the then-isolated lighthouse keeper and his family.
The crowd also enjoyed a mini air show of vintage planes. Kids got to meet Santa and let him know all the items on their wish list.
