Nassau police arrest suspect in string of business burglaries

A Hicksville man was arrested in connection to a string of burglaries targeting businesses in Nassau County.
Police say 42-year-old Scott Gilmor was linked to the crimes through surveillance video. He's accused of carrying out break-ins at businesses dating back to July.
According to police, Gilmor burglarized New York Barbell Fitness and Equipment on 17th Street in Jericho; Post Time Tavern on Old Country Road in Westbury; the Old Country Food Market on Old Country Road in Westbury; E Smoke Shop on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow; Circle K Deli on Bloomingdale Road in Hicksville; and the Ralph's Italian Ices shop on Old Country Road in Hicksville.
Police say he got away with money and electronics from the businesses.
The most recent burglary, at Ralph's, was early Friday morning, police say. He was arrested later that day, and is now charged with six counts of third-degree burglary.
At his arraignment Saturday, he was ordered held on $120,000 bond or $60,000 bail. Gilmor is due back in court on Dec. 11 in Mineola.
