Police say they've made an arrest in the violent mugging in University Heights that left a man in critical condition.
The NYPD says 21-year-old Nilson Castillo has been taken into custody. He was charged with robbery and assault.
Police had previously identified Castillo as the suspect wanted for punching and kicking 38-year-old Jeffrey Castillo around 3 a.m. Sunday.
News 12 spoke earlier this week with a close friend of the victim, who said that Jeffrey Castillo had to undergo a tracheotomy after the beating.
