Allerton school receives $88K worth of musical instruments

An Allerton school received thousands of dollars’ worth of musical instruments Thursday.
Pelham Prep Academy received $88,000 worth of brand new instruments as part of StubHub's Next Stage Social Good Program.  The program is in partnership with the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.
The goal of the program is to provide schools in desperate need of instruments.
"Studies have shown that schools with music education programs that allow kids to take part in those programs have higher instances of graduation, as well as attendance on a day-to-day basis," says Jeff Poirier, general manager of music. "So it is critically important and it's not cheap."
The students were also treated to a special performance by lovelytheband.
