Police: Bullets that hit 2 bystanders in shooting came from officers' guns

Police say bullets that hit two bystanders amid a police-involved shooting Wednesday in University Heights came from officers' weapons.
They say 37-year-old Edwin Castillo-Concepcion of Crotona Park East was running toward them firing shots, wearing a mask and carrying a backpack filled with drugs.
Police say they fired more than 25 rounds. Two innocent bystanders were hit by bullets. A woman was shot in the stomach and a 12-year-old girl was hit by bullet fragments in the leg. Her grandfather says she will be OK. The woman was in stable condition.
A car marked with bullet holes remained at the scene Thursday night, along with a heavy police presence.
Police say the suspect is charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
