Professional boxer and Bronx-native Josue Vargas is preparing for his 12th win this weekend at Madison Square Garden by training at the Morris Park Boxing Club. The 20-year-old has been training at the club since he was a child.
The super lightweight is still undefeated and will be fighting Saturday with his trainer and dad in his corner.
"He's always been there for me. Trains me hard, reminds me to eat right," says Vargas.
Tito Vargas has encountered his own struggles outside of the ring, spending more than a year in prison, but is now trying to make sure his son doesn't make similar mistakes.
Vargas is making his debut with Top Rank Promotions at Madison Square Garden this weekend when he fights John Renteria.
He was formerly with Mayweather Promotions.
