Police say nearly two dozen Rottweilers were left out in the bitter cold this Thanksgiving in Rocky Point.
Jose Borgos, 52, is facing 21 counts of violating a law that mandates that animals have appropriate shelter when outside and prohibits them being tethered outdoors when temperatures fall below 32 degrees.
Police say an officer was on patrol in the neighborhood and heard a lot of barking coming from behind a home. Authorities say they found 21 dogs outside in the backyard and in a shed.
Police say nine of the Rottweilers were found in travel crates in the shed.
Town officials say the dogs were ordered to be placed inside the home until they find a more suitable location.
There was no word on when Borgos would be arraigned.
