Health inspectors descend on LIU Post campus amid fears of virus outbreak

Health inspectors are looking into a possible norovirus outbreak on the campus of LIU Post.
School officials on the Brookville campus say some students have come down with flu-like symptoms.
The Nassau Health Department says they sent inspectors to the cafeteria and tell News 12 one of the workers there was sick recently.
Norovirus is highly contagious. Outbreaks usually happen in close quarters, and it spreads through food and drink.
LIU tells News 12 the university is sanitizing high-traffic areas as a precaution.
The university is also encouraging students to get a flu shot and take common sense precautions to reduce their risk.
