Fairfield police participate in 'Tip a Cop' campaign

Fairfield police Friday waited on tables and served breakfast to hungry customers at Chip's Family Restaurant.
The department is participating in the 'Tip a Cop' campaign, which benefits the Special Olympics.
Police worked to run pancakes, hash browns and eggs to hungry customers waiting at tables at The restaurant on Tunxis Hill Cut Off in Fairfield.
The officers were also joined by the Fairfield University Department of Public Safety.
Officials with the department say it’s important to interact with the community so they can get to know each other.
They say all the tips collected by the officers will be donated to the Special Olympics Connecticut to support their athletes and raise awareness about individuals with intellectual disabilities.
