Cutting back on social media could be a boost to your mental health. That’s according to a new study from the University of Pennsylvania that finds limiting social media use to 30 minutes a day could result in decreases in depression and loneliness. Researchers also found that decreased social media can decrease rates of anxiety and "fear of missing out."
It was another record-setting day of sales for the China-based retail giant Alibaba. The company said its annual "singles day" topped sales of more than $30 billion -- more than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Apple was among the top-selling brands, outselling even top Chinese mobile phones brands.
And a change could soon be coming to the laundry aisle. Procter and Gamble will soon start selling some of its Tide laundry detergent in cardboard boxes instead of plastic jugs. The eco-box uses 60 percent less plastic than previous designs. The rectangle box also makes the detergent easier and more cost-effective to ship, the company says.
