A gunman shot and wounded a 15-year-old girl in Mastic Beach Saturday.

The teen was shot on Flower Road around 11:40 p.m.

It's not clear what kind of weapon was used, or how many shots were fired.

Police have been tight-lipped about their investigation, but say the shooter was male, and that the victim knew the suspect.

The teen was taken to Stony Brook Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police have not said specifically what part of the victim's body was shot.

The victim and the suspect have not been publicly identified by police.
