North Babylon residents say new school bleachers towering over their yards are an eyesore and causing safety concerns.
North Babylon High School received a $69 million bond issue for infrastructure, which included bleachers and a media tower standing 40-feet high.
One neighbor said he is worried about a few issues that he thinks could affect him.
"You have privacy issues. You have liability issues," says neighbor Jack Seaman. "Some kids decide they want to jump off, now who gets sued?  They land in my yard, they break a leg."
Another neighbor placed calls to the superintendent as soon as construction started, asking what was going on. He says that eventually he received a response from an assistant who said they could speak with the construction office to review what was happening.
The school's superintendent says the community was continuously updated throughout the course of the project through their website and community meetings. He added that the district also held an informative bond fair prior to the referendum.
