Two West Haven parents posted bond Thursday after facing charges in the hot car death of their 4-year-old son over the summer.
Dusan Jenkins, 34, and Latoya Walters, 34, were arrested and are facing charges of criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor and giving a false statement. Both Jenkins and Walters turned themselves in to police after being notified of active arrest warrants.
Both parents posted bond Thursday. Walters’ bond was $10,000 and Jenkins’ was $15,000.
The incident happened on July 19, outside 2 Treat St.
Police say Dusan Jenkins, 4, died after he climbed into his parents car with his 2-year-old brother Davion Jenkins.
The two boys were unattended for some time before the 4-year-old died, according to police.
They are expected to be arraigned in court on Nov. 13.
