The man accused of attacking an NYPD detective from Suffolk with a meat cleaver was found guilty Monday.
Akram Joudeh slashed Detective Brian O'Donnell in 2016, leaving a 6-inch gash on his face. O'Donnell is from Northport.
He was off-duty when he tried to help detain Joudeh near Penn Station.
Officers fired 18 shots at Joudeh hitting him twice during the arrest.
Joudeh will be sentenced on Dec. 6 on attempted murder charges.
