A Uniondale man is expected to face a judge Monday for allegedly firing a gun at a police officer.
Police say Duane Costa, 37, failed to signal when turning on Lafayette Avenue in Hempstead on Sunday.
They say when they asked him to step out of the car, he shoved the officer and ran – dropping a gun.
According to officials, Costa then pulled out another gun and fired multiple shots at the police.
They say they found Costa on Meriam Street in Hempstead and were able to recover both handguns.
The officers were not injured.
Costa is facing attempted murder charges.
