Jurors found a Bridgeport man guilty of killing his girlfriend and stabbing her friend while the couple's 6-year-old daughter slept in the next room.
Police say Oscar Hernandez stabbed his girlfriend, Nidia Gonzalez, and her friend Brenda Castellano in his Bridgeport home, then fled with his 6-year-old daughter in February 2017. Hernandez was arrested following a high-speed chase in central Pennsylvania.
Hernandez was found guilty Monday of murder, attempted murder, assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Prosecutors said Hernandez got violent after learning his girlfriend was involved with another man, but the defendant took the stand in his trial and testified it was the two women who stabbed each other after a drunken argument.
Sentencing is set for Dec 4.  Bond has been raised from $2 million to $3 million as per the state's request.
