Batista begins job as new Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce president

There's a new person in charge of creating economic growth and vibrancy in Brooklyn, and he's starting the job today.
Hector Batista is the new president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
He is tasked with advocating for local businesses, which pay a yearly fee for membership.
In return, members receive help with resources like marketing, recruitment and networking.
“That's really what I’m excited about, helping our local businesses both large and small in dealing with whatever issues their dealing with every single day,” says Batista.
A spokesperson for the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce says there's about 2,000 members citywide.
