A Brooklyn firefighter is facing charges for allegedly attacking and choking an FDNY lawyer he was dating.
According to a New York Post report, Ernest McCoy, who works at a Marine Park Fire House, assaulted Bridget Hamblin last month on the night of the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office has since charged McCoy with a slew of charges, including harassment.
The 47-year-old firefighter was also suspended for 30 days by the FDNY, which ended back on Oct 4.
In a statement to News 12 the FDNY wrote, "He was previously suspended without pay before the arrest, currently he is assigned administratively.”
There was no further comment.
The criminal investigation is ongoing
