NASA engineer celebrates Hispanic heritage at Cradle of Aviation

A NASA spacecraft engineer joined a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month Tuesday.
Scarlin Hernandez talked to students at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.
Hernandez says Latinas make up about 3 percent of the workforce in STEM industries. She hopes her words can help inspire.
"I think it's important when someone looks like them they can kind of relate a little bit more and feel a little more comfortable and say, 'Hey, she looks like me and you know maybe I can do it too,'" says Hernandez.
The students also got to watch the museum's first bilingual planetarium show, which explored Latin American skies.
