North Shore Animal League America spread the message “Adopt. Don’t Shop.” Saturday during its second annual Walk and Wag fundraiser.
Anthony Angioletti says the organization has rescued more than 117 animals from areas affected by Florence. He says the funds raised from Saturday’s event will help continue in those efforts.
Anthony says many of the dogs would have been euthanized had they still been in the Carolinas, but instead, they are in New York looking for their forever home.
The organization says there are still 12 dogs that need to find homes from Saturday’s event. Money collected in the fundraiser is going to be sent to the shelters that were in the path of Florence.
