A 36-year-old woman was raped for an hour on the front lawn of her Freeport home early this morning, Nassau police say.
The incident happened at 1:30 a.m. on Parsons Avenue. The victim’s brother says the attack was caught on surveillance video.
“She was walking to the house when she got surprised by the guy, grabbed her behind and knocked her unconscious…dragged her to the grass…he raped her the whole hour,” he told News 12.
He says she eventually was able to fight back, kick him off her and broke a window of her home to alert family.
When the victim broke that window, family members say they woke up and ran outside. They say the attacker fled the scene.
Nassau police say the victim did not know the suspect and they're investigating the forcible rape as a random act.
The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering with family. Police are asking anyone with information to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
