A beloved fall event in the Hudson Valley kicked off Friday night.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze held its opening night at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson.

The site features more than 7,000 lit up pumpkin carvings made from over 200,000 pounds of pumpkins each year.

"It's crazy I don't even know how to put it into words," one visitor said.

It took over 1,000 volunteers to create the jack-o'-lanterns seen at the event.

This year, a spinning windmill of pumpkins and a medieval castle were just some of the new displays. There was also a pumpkin graveyard and a refurbished Revolutionary War museum with lights that dance along to a soundtrack.

The event runs for 45 nights, all the way through to Thanksgiving. Tickets go for $27 for adults and $20 for children.
