Record-setting harness racing horse retires at age 14
A record-setting harness racing horse from New Jersey is set to retire at age 14.
Foiled Again has more than 100 wins and has won more money than any harness racing horse in the sport’s history.
The horse will be retiring from harness racing at the end of this year due to his age.
Foiled Again has lived at the Burke Racing Stables in Manalapan for the last 10 years.
He competes in pacing events, which are different from trotting events. He has beaten horses less than half his age.
“He’s not the fastest. He’s not the biggest. He’s all heart,” says trainer Shannon Murphy.
Foiled Again has earned over $7.5 million.
